City Social is under the direction of Executive Chef Dan Birk.
Dan studied engineering for 3 years but his real passion was always in kitchen where he transformed raw ingredients into delectable food items.
He brings over 20 years of culinary experience, 17 of those within Michelin-starred kitchens. Dan worked as Sous-chef for the likes of Germain Schwab at then two Michelin-starred Winteringham Fields, before taking on the role of Group Executive Chef at The Social Company in 2013, where he oversaw Jason Atherton's new openings and prestigious events across the globe. Dan joined City Social in Dubai in 2022.
Dan's impeccable modern European dishes highlight the best ingredients from around the world.
Polish-born chef Daniel moved to the United Kingdom at the age of 18 to work as Kitchen Assistant for a gastropub in Wimbledon.
His international experience notably included a role in the restaurant for Gordon Ramsay at the Gordon Ramsay at Claridge's and for Jason Atherton at the City Social, during which the restaurant was awarded their first Michelin Star.
In 2022, Daniel was appointed to the role Head Chef at City Social in Dubai, bringing an expertise of 17 years within the culinary world.
During his leisure time, Chef Daniel enjoys being active with outdoor activities including football.
With over 9 years hospitality experience, Alex started his career back in the UK, his home country as a part-time pot washer at the young age of 16.
Being completely passionate about the industry, Alex wanted to give his all to gain maximum exposure and experience from working in several restaurants. He eventually learned what it takes to manage a successful restaurant after having worked in different departments.
Alex is very new to Dubai. Prior to joining City Social, he was working as Restaurant Manager for The Fig & Olive in Birmingham, UK.
An avid supporter of the Wolverhampton Wanderers, Alex loves to socialize while having a cold pint of beer (of course).
Originating from Rome, Lorenzo developed a keen interest in wine from a young age and he has been dedicating his life to wine ever since.
Lorenzo worked for prestigious venues in Italy, UK and Cyprus, starting in 2010 as Sommelier at the Il Ristorante Trussardi Alla Scala, in Milan.
Moving to the UK's culinary capital, London in 2012, Lorenzo's next roles were in some of the most prestigious venues including the Orrery and the Hakkasan. His most recent role was at the LPM in Cyprus as Head Sommelier.
In November 2022, Lorenzo came on board City Social as Head Sommelier with the aim of delivering bespoke experience to wine aficionados.
With a decade of experience working in hospitality under her belt, Eimear is a reassuring presence in City Social who prides herself on delivering the highest standards of customer service.
Having worked in luxury hotels and restaurants across London and Dublin for the past seven years, she has been with us at City Social, joining as Guest Relations Executive since 2022.
Getting to meet new people and having the opportunity to make a guest's experience exceptional is part of the job that she will always love.
